Introduction
The EM-Tec Save-Storr sample storage containers have been developed to store sensitive samples under a dry and inert gas atmosphere. The EM-Tec Save-Storr sample storage containers consist of a clear polycarbonate hinged container with a seal, separate gas inlet and outlet valves and an over-pressure safety valve. The containers can be purged and filled with dry inert gas such as Nitrogen or Argon to protect moisture and oxygen sensitive samples. The construction allows vacuum pumping of the EM-Tec Save-Storr container first, before purging/filling it with inert gas. Using inert gas to protect samples is preferred for long term safe sample storage. The gas diffusion rate is lower than with vacuum storage containers due to the similar pressures in and outside the container.
The EM-Tec Save Storr sample containers are available in four versions:
- EM-Tec Save-Storr 2 made from clear polycarbonate with a volume of 1.75ltr
- EM-Tec Save-Storr 4 made from thick-walled black ABS with a volume of 4.4 ltr
- EM-Tec Save-Storr 7 made from thick-walled black ABS with a volume of 7.1 ltr
- EM-Tec Save-Storr 10 made from thick-walled black ABS with a volume of 10.5 ltr
Features of the EM-Tec Save-Storr sample storage containers are:
- Protects oxygen sensitive and/or moisture sensitive samples
- Protects samples and calibration standards against contamination
- Four sizes with 1.75, 4.4, 7.1 and 10.5 liters storage capacity
- Easy sample location through the clear polycarbonate box of
the Save-Storr 2 - Light-sensitive sample protected in the black ABS box of the Save-Storr Save-Storr 4, 7 and 10
- Sturdy, space-saving and stackable design
- Ball valves for both gas inlet and gas outlet
- Over-pressure safety valve made from silicone rubber
- Barbed hose connections for 6mm (1/4”) gas hose
- Optional EM-Tec 2 Save-Storr shelves

EM-Tec Save-Stor perforated shelf
The optional EM-Tec Save-Storr shelves increase the storage area in the Save-Stor 2 container. Made from perforated aluminium sheets with dimensions of 187x89mm. The perforated sheets contain 57 holes which enable storage of 57 of the Ø12.7mm pin stubs with a standard Ø3.2mm (1/8”) pin. The gaps at the sides and the perforation ensure adequate gas flow throughout the EM-Tec Save-Storr 2 container.
